This has been bubbling away for the past year. If I'm honest I've been thinking about this since I started at Common Purpose. The challenge is to understand the link between what we do and the outcomes it produces. Of course this is huge. The complexity comes from the two ways of looking at it i.e. the reality, the ideal and then unpicking the two.
Another challenge is the language we use to describe it. We need to create our own, but not from scratch. It's too much of a task to come up with our own and it won't sound right. We need to adopt other models, ideas and language. Having done so we need to make it our own and that means sharing and communicating with staff.
A good example of that is how we have some staff now reading about cafe conversations, dialogue and action learning. All techniques that are creeping in through our design and through book references, articles and recommendations.
